Yeast Free / Sugar Free

AVOID all Genetically Modified (GMO) products: soy, corn, sugar/beets, sugar/sugar cane products, canola and cottonseed oil, Hawaiian papaya, zucchini if possible. Organic will not be genetically modified.

Eliminate the "dirty dozen" foods from your diet (foods with the most pesticides = apples, celery, cherry tomatoes, peaches, cucumbers, grapes, hot peppers, nectarines, potatoes, spinach, kale, strawberries, sweet red bell peppers, summer squash-zuchinni ). Replace with organic foods.

As of June 29/13, the Dirty Dozen Plus to buy organic is: apples, celery, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, grapes, hot peppers, nectarines (imported), peaches, potatoes, spinach, strawberries, sweet bell peppers, kale/collard greens, summer squash

Foods You Can Eat:
  • Eggs, fish, chicken, turkey, seafood, lamb, beef, pork and veal.
  • All vegetables except corn and potatoes. Sweet potatoes are OK. Vegetables that inhibit the growth of Candida: plenty of onions, cabbage (red and green), broccoli, turnips, kale, rutabagas and raw garlic.
  • Fruit, wash well. NO bruised or over ripe fruit. If you are prone to yeast infections choose organic pears and apples; 2 a day max.
  • Brown rice, whole wheat pasta, whole grain cereals (no sugar added), Ry-Krisp, Wassa, Kavli, Ryvita, taco shells, tortillas, quick breads and muffins prepared with low sugar content. Ezekial 4:9 bread or other breads made from sprouted grains, yeast free breads may be obtained at health food stores. There may be a small amount of yeast in these breads.
  • Milk, plain yogurt.
  • Goat cheese.
  • Raw nuts and seeds. Nut butters without sugar (no peanuts). Gelatin.
  • Organic green tea, herbal teas without the ingredient "matte", seltzer, home prepared fruit and vegetable drinks.
  • Cold pressed vegetable oils. 
  • Carob and carob products.
  • Salad dressings: lemon juice or organic apple cider with the mother culture (one brand is Bragg Organic)
Foods to Eliminate:
  • Sugar in all forms, including honey, corn, cane & maple syrup, molasses, fructose, glucose, sucrose. (After you have been on medications for 3-4 months you may try small amounts of honey-taking it with fiber containing food. You may also try non-aged, non-moldy cheese in small amounts). Read labels carefully.
  • Fungus, molds, and yeast in all forms, including mushrooms & truffles.
  • Most bread and commercially baked goods, buns, cakes, cookies, and some cereals made with bakers or brewers yeast.
  • All alcoholic beverages including beer & wine. 
  • Root beer, ginger ale, vanilla extract, apple cider.
  • Vinegar and all foods containing vinegar (except the one suggested above): olives, pickles, relishes, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, salad dressing, horseradish barbecue sauce.
  • All cheeses buttermilk, cream and products made from them. Note that goat cheese is OK
  • Fermented products including soy sauce (tamari) and tofu.
  • Dried fruits, commercially prepared fruit and tomato juice. 
  • Most commercial soups.
  • Corn and potatoes.
  • Chocolate.
  • Try to avoid when possible white flour and anything made from it.
  • Peanuts, grapes, over ripe fruits, dried fruit.
  • Avoid aspartame (neurotoxic) or splenda (alters Gl microbes). Instead use stevia, a natural product which can be purchased in health food stores. Xylitol in small amounts is fine to use.
